Within the assigned chapters from Network Sovereignty: Building the Internet Across Indian Country, there was a lot of informative pieces that are highlighted. However, one stood out to me that read, "Colonizing systems include systems designed to classify populations in a way that favors white supremacy and encourages Indigenous subjugation and eradication, for example, through denial of rights based on blood quantum rolls or citizenship status records," (Duarte, 21). For some, the have become numb due to how consistent this is, yet it is still a big deal that holds a lot of control even in this day and age. Within this, they are pointing out that the separation leads to many unequal situations and challenges, just as it has been. The picture below was used to showcase caste paintings and discussing the rights one can have based on who they are and their sex which could determine the kids rights. Not only did colonialism impact then, it has affected a lot of issues we have in todays world. The control of power dominated by specific groups leads to the inability to spread awareness completely, prevent certain things such as diseases, right violations, imbalance of education, and more.
